We recommend enabling Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) primarily through a mobile device, but it can also be done via a computer if needed.
If you can install an authenticator app on a mobile device, use these instructions.
How to setup 2FA on a computer via the Microsoft Store from your computer settings

Start Menu
- Click the Windows button (Start menu) in the lower left corner.
- Alternatively, press the Windows key on your keyboard.

Find Microsoft Store
- Type "Microsoft Store" in the search bar.
- When "Microsoft Store" appears in the search results, click on it.

Open Microsoft Store
- The Microsoft Store app will open, and you can browse and download apps.

Select an Authenticator app
- With Microsoft Store open, select your preferred authenticator app.
- Search Function: Use the search function at the top of the Microsoft Store. Type "top authenticator" in the search bar.
- Choose an App: You will see several options to choose from. Review and select the one that best meets your needs. For example, "FirstOrder Authenticator" is an easy-to-use and free option.
- With Microsoft Store open, select your preferred authenticator app.

Install the app
- Click on your chosen authenticator app in the Microsoft Store.
- Download the app: Click the "Get" button on the app's page.
- The app will begin to download and install automatically on your computer. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
NOTE: Specific installation instructions for the FirstOrder Authenticator app are provided at the bottom of this page. However, you can use any app.
How to setup 2FA on a computer via the Microsoft Store using a browser

Open your preferred browser
- Open your preferred browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox).

Go to Microsoft Store website
- Type https://apps.microsoft.com/ in the address bar and press Enter.

Browse the Microsoft Store website
- The Microsoft Store website will open, and you can browse the available content.

Install an authenticator app
- Search for a suitable authenticator app in the Microsoft Store.
- Example app: FirstOrder Authenticator.
- Download the app: Click the “Get” button on the app's page.
- The app will begin to download and install automatically on your computer. Follow the instructions to complete the installation.
FirstOrder Authenticator app setup
NOTE: These instructions are specifically for the FirstOrder Authenticator app but can be adapted for any authentication app. These instructions apply whether you installed the app directly on your computer or through a browser.
- Open the recently downloaded FirstOrder Authenticator
- App: Click on the app to open it.
- Get Started: Click the “Get Started” button on the app's start screen.
- Skip Steps: You can skip the next steps by pressing the “Next” button.
- Skip Login: The app may suggest logging in via a Google account. You can skip this step by clicking anywhere outside the suggested login window.
Enabling 2FA when logging in to the Merchant panel (specific to FirstOrder Authenticator app)
- Log in to the Merchant panel.
- Request a verification code via email and enter it on the open Merchant panel page. You will then see a QR code.

Open FirstOrder Authenticator app

Click the blue "+" sign on the lower right side (not at the very bottom) of the app.
- Select "Screenshot" and then "Snipping Tool"
- Press "OK".
- Take a screenshot of the QR code displayed on the Merchant panel page.
- Once you have successfully taken the screenshot, you will receive a six-digit code in the FirstOrder Authenticator app, which you enter into the "Code" field on the Merchant panel page and click "Confirm".
