Activating your Nets SmartPOS payment terminal is the first step to accepting customer payments. During setup, you will connect the device, charge and power it on, create a PIN, and confirm your business details. A test transaction verifies the setup, and once complete, the terminal is ready for daily use with automatic reconciliation included.
Activate your terminal
- Connect one end of the power cable to the left-hand side of the charging dock and the other end to the power source.
- Place the terminal in the charging dock to charge the device.
- Press the power button for about two seconds until the screen turns on.
- Select your preferred language and press Continue.
- Press Activate.
- Check the business details shown on the screen and confirm by pressing Yes, continue.
- Create a 6-digit PIN code.
- Accept the terms and conditions from our partner Poynt GoDaddy by pressing I agree.
- Open the Terminal app to start accepting payments.
- Perform a test transaction by entering an amount using the touchscreen keypad and confirming the payment.
- Complete the test transaction using your own payment card.
- Print a card payment receipt by selecting Paper receipt on the terminal screen.
The card payment receipt does not include product details or VAT information.
Once you have completed all the steps, your payment terminal is ready to use and you can start accepting payments.
Reconciliation (end-of-day) is automatic (make info box and redirect to own article about EOD)
- The terminal automatically handles the reconciliation at the end of the day.
- Transactions from the past 30 days can also be viewed in the Transactions app.
- Daily sales reports can be printed in the Npay app.
