PayPal allows customers to pay online using their PayPal account or a linked card. The payment is completed in PayPal before the customer returns to the online store. To offer PayPal, your company must have a PayPal business account, which you can create on PayPal’s website. PayPal charges transaction fees according to its own pricing. Paytrail charges a processing fee for PayPal payments in accordance with Paytrail’s pricing.
Step-by-step: Connect your PayPal account
- Sign in to the Merchant panel.
- In the left-hand menu, go to Payment methods.
- Find PayPal and select Connect your PayPal account.
- Enter the email address linked to your PayPal business account and select Continue.
- You will be redirected to PayPal. Sign in and confirm the connection.
- Return to the Merchant panel and set PayPal to active.
Notes about PayPal
- PayPal payments are not included in Paytrail settlement reports. PayPal handles the payouts directly.
- Refunds cannot be made in the Merchant panel. You must issue refunds in the PayPal dashboard.
