Refunds are returned to the same payment method used for the original payment. If the business has confirmed the refund but you cannot find it, the refund may still be processing or may appear differently depending on the payment method used.
🏦 Online bank refunds
- Refunds for online bank payments may take a few business days to appear.
- Check the same bank account used for the original payment.
- The refund may appear under the original payment date in your online bank.
- If the refund could not be returned automatically, Paytrail may send you a refund email. Learn more about Paytrail refund emails.
💳 Card refunds
- Check your card transactions, not just your bank account transactions. Card refunds can appear 1–15 banking days after the refund was processed or under the original payment date.
- Check your credit card statement. Some refunds only appear on your next statement.
- If the refund could not be returned automatically to the original card because the card is no longer valid, has expired, or is otherwise unavailable:
- The card issuer may redirect the refund to your replacement card or linked account.
- If this is not possible, Paytrail sends you a refund email with a secure link where you can safely provide your account number so the refund can be completed. Learn more about Paytrail refund emails.
- If you still cannot find the refund, contact your card issuer.
📱 Mobile payment refunds
Apple Pay and Google Pay
- See the card refunds section above for more information about how refunds may appear.
- Unlike standard card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay refunds usually cannot be completed through a Paytrail refund email. If there is an issue returning the refund, the business where you made the payment will contact you with further instructions.
MobilePay
- Refunds are not shown in the MobilePay app transaction history.
- Check the card connected to your MobilePay account.
- If the refund was made on the same day as the original payment, the original charge may update to 0€ or disappear completely from your transaction history.
🛍️ Klarna refunds
- Check the status of your refund in the Klarna app.
📄 Invoice refunds (Walley or OP Lasku)
- Refund details are usually forwarded automatically to your Buy now, Pay later provider.
- You can check the refund status in the Walley app or OP online services.
- Partial refunds: The refunded amount is deducted from the remaining invoice or loan balance.
- Full payment already made: If you overpaid, contact your provider to receive the refund.
