What you need to do to start accepting payments
The following information should be visible on your online store or app before all payment methods can be activated:
- Company name, Business ID or registration number, and at least your company's email address or phone number
- Delivery and cancellation terms
- Paytrail payment service provider text

Information to provide on your website or app
Contact information
You must clearly display your company contact details so that customers can easily reach you. At minimum, include:
- Business ID or registration number
- Company name
- Address
- Phone number
- Email address
Delivery and cancellation terms
Clear and up-to-date delivery and cancellation terms help build customer trust, make the buying process smoother, and strengthen your position as a merchant. Easy-to-find and well-presented terms can also reduce complaints and unnecessary customer inquiries.
Pay attention to the following:
- Name your terms clearly based on your business, for example delivery and cancellation terms or booking and cancellation terms.
- Describe your payment methods, delivery options, delivery times and costs, as well as your cancellation, return, and refund policies.
- Make sure customers can read the terms before confirming their order.
- Ask customers to accept the terms before payment, for example by using a checkbox. This is especially important if you offer card, mobile, invoice, or installment payment methods.
- Properly presented and accepted terms help protect you in disputes and chargeback situations.
Additional requirements depend on whether you sell to consumers or to businesses.
If you sell to consumers, your terms must follow the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority’s (KKV) distance selling rules. These include:
- The customer’s right to cancel within 14 days (some products are excluded, see the KKV’s right of withdrawal list)
- Instructions on how customers can contact you to make a return
- Information on who bears the cost of returning products
- A clear statement that refunds are always returned to the original payment method used
If you sell only to companies (B2B), your terms do not have to follow KKV rules. However, they must clearly define the responsibilities between you and your business customer.

You must display the official Paytrail payment service provider text. Add the correct language version of this text to your website’s payment or delivery terms.
