If you notice Paytrail on your bank or card statement, it means we processed a payment for an online store or service you used.
Most statements display Paytrail Oyj along with the store’s name. For card payments, the statement may also show PTL* (previously CHF*) as an identifier that the payment was processed via Paytrail.
You can check the most common reasons Paytrail may appear and when to contact us for help.
Common reasons Paytrail appears on your statement
Here are typical cases that may help you recognize the payment:
- Government services: Payments for passports, ID cards, or other municipal/state services are often processed through Police e-services.
- Business-related fees: The Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH) uses Paytrail, for example when updating company details.
- Digital content: Purchases such as ebooks, music, movies, or games.
- Travel bookings: Hotel reservations, rental cars, or other travel services.
- Event tickets: Concert, sports, or other event ticket purchases.
- Charity and memberships: Donations or membership fees.
- Family purchases: Payments made by a partner or family member using your card.
- Email confirmations: Most purchases generate an order confirmation email—try searching your inbox (and junk folder) around the payment date.
How to get help identifying a payment
If you still cannot identify the payment, please contact our customer service team. To help us investigate faster, include the following details when you get in touch:
- Online bank payments: a screenshot of the payment from your bank statement showing the payer’s name, date, amount, and reference number. If you cannot send a screenshot, provide the same details in text.
- Card payments: the last four digits of your card number, the payment date, and the payment amount.
What if the statement says Adyen, Holvi, or Nuvei?
Paytrail partners with other payment service providers, including Adyen, Holvi, and Nuvei, which also process Finnish online bank payments. If one of these names appears on your statement, you can still contact us for help. Please provide:
- Payment date
- Amount
- Reference number
