Why does Paytrail need authorization to access information from my bank account?

When paying via online bank, you may be asked to authorize Paytrail to access limited account information needed to complete your payment. This authorization is required for secure bank integrations used by payment service providers across the EU.

Through this authorization, Paytrail can access your account number and account currency. Paytrail cannot access your account balance, transaction history, or other account details.

Authorization allows Paytrail to create the payment in the bank’s system. However, the payment cannot be completed without your explicit approval using your online banking credentials.
